CSR Plan

We are one of the leading companies in our country and one of the most widespread, with more than 52,000 employees. Given that we are a public company, we adopt an exemplary responsible behaviour in the way we conduct our business, achieving compromises in each and every one of our company’s areas.

For the past twenty years we have been involved in various issues of social interest such as children’s welfare, diversity, people with disabilities or the environment, among others. We have been adapting to the new social and cultural changes and have consequently launched the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility Plan, which revolves around two main pillars: contribution to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the so-called demographic challenge.

At Correos we are firmly committed to achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), which have been signed by 193 committed countries seeking to eradicate poverty, protect the planet, and ensure prosperity for all.

The 17 Goals, each one of which is represented by a colour, are part of the 2030 Global Agenda, the time horizon within which they are expected to be achieved. In this endeavour, participation is for the first time open not only to governments but also to the private sector and civil society in general.

As part of our commitment, we are already working on identifying how our products, services and actions can have an influence on complying with the 2030 Agenda while demonstrating what the postal sector can contribute as well as designing specific products that contribute to meeting the SDGs.

One of the initiatives we have launched is the “VamOs!” project that explains each one of the SDGs and how Correos contributes to them. We will also propose actions so that all of us can individually identify actions and behaviours that also contribute to achieving the 2030 Agenda.

Each and every one of us can to a greater or lesser extent incorporate the SDGs into our daily lives, contributing helping through small gestures to make a better world and achieve greater personal wellbeing.

Correos’ commitment to addressing the demographic challenge at local level is one of the keys to our activity and is at the same time one of the cross-sectional aspects, together with the SDGs, marking our Corporate Social Responsibility strategy, which influences the development of new products and services.

Within this line, one of the most significant projects is the launch of a new platform for marketing artisanal products, Correos Market, which aims to bring local sellers closer to every citizen. Through this initiative, consumers can choose and receive a quality local product no matter where they are and at no postage cost through www.correosmarket.es

Correos’ aim has always been to provide a service for citizens and enterprise wherever they are, structuring the territory thanks to its extensive and widespread network, at the same time helping to generate new job opportunities for local entrepreneurs, putting them in contact with consumers throughout Spain.

The Correos network is a critical part of this commitment. Through its 2,400 offices distributed across the country, our company is undergoing a continuous transformation to meet the needs of citizens, especially in places where they lack many services and infrastructures. In this way Correos is reinventing itself to provide, for example, fast and reliable banking services and communication channels with the Administration.

AT Correos we work every day on our commitment as a public company to the society in which we operate, serving as an active and participatory agent. To this end, we annually organise a wide range of dissemination and information activities aimed at society with the goal of promoting awareness of certain social issues.

Education Projects: Mensajeros de la Paz, “Inicia Valores de la Empresa” (“Start Company Values”) Program and Jornadas medioambientales (Program and Environmental Days)

Supporting diversity (Women and disability).

Volunteering (Reforestation Days, Food Collection and Christmas Campaign)

Social campaigns (Earth Hour, Correos Reparte Sonrisas, Xtu Mirada, X Solidarity and computer, mobile and furniture equipment donation

We are aware that we must contribute to the setting in which we operate, protecting and improving the environment. Even more so if possible if we take into account the type of company we are, our size, our presence across Spain and the size of our vehicle fleet, which already exceeds 13,700
